Please read this post carefully BEFORE nominating.

Instructions

Everyone can nominate 5 fandoms with 7 relationships each. You can only match on tags that have been nominated and accepted into the tagset, so nominate anything you want to receive or offer.

To nominate:

You read the Nomination Guidelines (this post!) and make sure you understand them — don't be afraid to ask me or any of the other co-mods questions if you don't!
You go to the tagset and make sure you're logged in to your AO3 account.
You click the nominate button and fill in the nomination page with tags you want to request.
When I have time, I approve them... assuming you filled it out correctly/assuming that I understand your nomination.
If you did it wrong or I'm confused, I'll ask you about it in a nominations clarification post on this Dreamwidth community. You just have to comment on the post or email me to clear things up!
I can't see who's nominated what so I can't just ask you directly, you have to pay attention!
Lingering incorrect nominations may be rejected, but I will always be willing to add the correct versions in for you if you provide correctly formatted tags later on.

The tagset system on AO3 is kind of janky, so I can't see who's nominated what and I can't see all unapproved tags at the same time. We'll need to communicate via Dreamwidth if I have questions about your tags, so keep an eye out!

This September marks the 10th anniversary of Dreaming of Sunshine! To celebrate, we are running an exchange. We welcome writers, artists and podficcers to join us in this propitious event!

This round of the exchange is run by Leaf (Tavina), Lionhead Bookends and drowsyivy.

Exchanges are events where participants give and receive fanworks as gifts! This is an exchange for recursive fic (fic of fic!) about the Naruto fanfiction Dreaming of Sunshine by Silver Queen, which is a +700k SI OC fic that started in 2011. You can also learn more about the DoS recursive fandom on Fanlore. Regular Naruto fanfiction that isn't based off of Dreaming of Sunshine is not allowed.

If you sign up, you'll want to check this community for updates and your email for messages from the exchange mod. General updates on the exchange will not be emailed to you with the exception of your assignment, an email that will come from AO3.

exchange_no_jutsu will start up in April (and you can request all DoS for that one!)

Dreaming of Sunshine - Silver Queen — For the tag "Nara Shikako & Genin Students (DoS)" does the nominator mean OC student(s)? Should they be specifically Konoha genin? I'm worried that the current phrasing is a little ambiguous as to what group exactly is being referred to, since the broadest possible interpretation would be literally any genin from any point in the timeline...

Freeforms — We also had some other new freeforms nominated! I would like to check in with nominators them:

Arranged Marriage — I have been waffling (get it???) about "Arranged Marriage". I don't think it's a particularly prevalent trope in DoS fic? I'm not sure it's general enough? But admittedly I haven't had time to check if there are arranged marriage fics that I'm not thinking of, so I'm punting this question back to participants: is this a more prevalent trope than I'm thinking it is? If it isn't, can you think of a way to rephrase it that makes it so?
DoS & Canon Meet — I think that this is something better covered by just requesting under the Dreaming of Sunshine - Silver Queen/Naruto fandom, but I am asking about it here in case this is the name of a specific verse from the forums that I've forgotten or something.
Dreaming of Canon — iirc this is a verse from the forums. I would like to accept it as "Alternate Universe - Dreaming of Canon".
Innovative Non-Sexual Applications for Low Ranked Jutsu — I love this trope but I also think it's probably a little too specific for this exchange. How does the nominator feel about something like "Innovative Or Domestic Applications For Ninja Skills"? (You can use DNWs to make sure you don't get any surprise kink.)
Other accepted new freeforms — How Danzo Finally Dies, Politics, Family

DREAMING OF SUNSHINE EXCHANGE 2020 C (WINTER ROUND) SCHEDULE

Nominations: November 30th-December 9th
Sign ups: December 10th-December 19th (11:59 PM EST)

Also, if you defaulted after the default deadline in the 2020A round, you will need to post a make up gift before nominations open if you want to participate in this round! That means you should have your make up work in by or on November 29th. Your make up gift can be for any previous exchange round, but should be at least 500 words/a finished piece of art on unlined paper even if you're filling a request from the flash round (2020 B).

Ten minutes before work this morning I decided to run a flash exchange for Shikako's birthday!

The minimum is 100 words or an earnest sketch. Sign ups are open now until at least 10pm EDT if not later. The writing period will be at least 24 hours.

Please view the rules post for complete details, but basically: PHs must be 300+ words long, complete, and involve any two requested characters from inside one request. It must also respect DNWs. This PH is due September 4th at 8 PM EDT — exact timing negotiable if that's a very horrible time for you. To claim, comment on this post with your AO3 username.

If you are not this PH and you don't have a gift despite turning a gift in yourself, no worries! Your creator has an extension.

Hi! A little bit more to go over this time...

Fuu — "Yamanaka Fuu" is already in the tagset (maybe nominated by you!) so I'm assuming that this is Fuu the jinchuuriki. Approved as "Fuui of Taki" for clarity!
Hatake Kakashi's Ninken — I know that this is an AO3 canonical character tag, but only single characters are allowed for this exchange! Please nominate individual ninken.
teuchi — Plauged by the horrors of a lowercase tag, I've approved this as "Teuchi (DoS)" to spare us.

Hi! We have such good tags, and I have just a few notes!

Isaribi — unfortunately the first person to use this tag didn't capitalize it and I will die if I have to look at "isaribi" in between all the other properly capitalized tags, so this was approved as "Isaribi (DoS)"!
Onoki — This can technically be spelled "Ōnoki" or "Oonoki". Since the AO3 canonical is Oonoki, I went with that, but I also fixed it up on the minor characters list!
Mission Desk Idiot — imo MDI is a specific trope rather than a clearly defined set of characters; I think people who weren't on the forums back in the day won't know what it means! Tatami Iwashi (mentioned in chapters 16/15 and 38/37) is the only canonically named mission desk ninja we have besides Iruka, I think, but I would also be happy to approve "Original Konoha Mission Desk Ninja". If you want both, I'll even slip one in for you! :D
